Barnden promoted to Head of Performance by Southampton

Barnden replaces Mark Bitcon, who stepped up to Director of Football Operations in June following Jason Wilcox’s switch to Manchester United.

Barden, who will now oversee a unified medical and performance department, joined Saints as their Head of Sports Science in September 2023. He is a hugely experienced practitioner, having previously worked in senior roles for Swansea City, Nottingham Forest, Manchester City, Brighton and more.
