Wolves Director of Professional Football Domenico Teti has left the club by mutual consent just two days after they parted company with Head Coach Vitor Pereira.
Teti had only been in the role for just over four months, having previously worked with Pereira at Saudi club AlShabab.
He was part of a five-man ‘Football Leadership Team’ which the club said on his arrival would “improve the strategy and planning around professional and first-team football” enabling “better collaboration and helping to ensure alignment and consistency across the professional environment”.
The other members of the Leadership Team are:
- Matt Jackson (Director of Player Recruitment and Development)
- Phil Hayward (Director of Performance)
- Matt Wild (Director of Football Operations & Administration)
- Max Fitzgerald (PR & Communications Director)
‘Amicable dialogue’
Announcing Teti’s departure, Wolves said that he had “conducted himself with the utmost professionalism and dedication as part of Wolves’ football Leadership Team”.
They added: “The decision follows an amicable dialogue between the club and Teti after the departure of Head Coach Vitor Pereira in recent days.”
Executive Chairman Jeff Shi said: “Domenico approached his role with total professionalism and built strong working relationships across the club during his time with us.
“He made a positive contribution to our football processes and has carried himself with integrity throughout.
“We thank him for his efforts and support and wish him every success in the future.”
Wolves have yet to appoint a permanent successor to Pereira, who left the club with all eight of his backroom staff on Sunday.
Under-21s Head Coach James Collins and Under-18s Head Coach Richard Walker have been put in charge of training sessions for the first team until a new Head Coach is named.
