Former military leadership advisor Ian Leman has been appointed Head of Performance Intelligence at Swansea City.
Leman spent 12 years in the UK military, which included three tours of Afghanistan leading elite teams on military intelligence operations.
His specialism is influence and he worked on defence liaison operations in the Middle East and South East Asia, as well as becoming a senior leadership instructor for the RAF.
For the last three years, Leman has run his own performance consultancy and started advising Swansea City in August 2023. Now his role with the club has become permanent and he takes on the new title of Head of Performance Intelligence.
The Swans, currently 11th in the Championship, are in the process of recruiting a new Sporting Director to replace Paul Watson, who departed after 16 months at the start of November. Chairman Andy Coleman and Chief of Staff Ken Gude have been leading the search for Watson’s replacement.
Manager Luke Williams recently said: “I know there are many, many applicants. There’s a process to follow to shorten down that list and then in the very near future people will be interviewed for the role and we go from there.”
