Technical Director

Reports into Giles and responsible for recruitment, analysis, data, technology and player pathways. Joined Brentford in 2019 as Head of Recruitment and was promoted to current role in June 2022.

Keith Andrews

Head Coach

Replaced Thomas Frank in June 2025, a year after joining the club as Set Piece Coach from Sheffield United, where he had been First Team Coach since December 2023. Was also assistant to Stephen Kenny with the Republic of Ireland from 2020 to 2023 and MK Dons Assistant in 2015/16. Played for Wolves, Hull City, MK Dons and Blackburn Rovers during a 16-year playing career, as well as winning 35 caps for Ireland.

Joined in July 2025 from Arsenal, where he was U21s Head Coach and had worked for three years. Previously U21s boss at Reading.

First-Team Coach

Made 501 appearances for the Bees in a one-club playing career spanning 15 years. Took a player-coach role with the club in 2014 before becoming B Team Head Coach in 2016 and then First Team Assistant Head Coach two years later.

Jack Lester

Assistant First-Team Coach

Joined in September 2025 and specialises in individual development. Previously worked for Sheffield United for six years, as Academy Manager and then First Team Coach alongside Andrews in 2023/24. Also managed Chesterfield in League Two during the 2017/18 season and was temporarily Wales assistant coach in 2023.

Promoted from B Team Head Coach to First-Team Coach in July 2025. Had been B Team boss since May 2019.

Set Piece Coach

Worked with Andrews for the Republic of Ireland, when he was Chief Scout and Opposition Analyst and Andrews was Assistant. Had been Ireland’s U21s Assistant before joining Brentford in August 2025. Also previously Senior PDP Coach with Crystal Palace.

Goalkeeper Coach

Was a coach at several clubs in his homeland before joining Aitor Karanka at Nottingham Forest in 2018/19. Was with Al Ahli in Doha ahead of move to Brentford in August 2020.

Ben Ryan

Director of Elite Performance

A lifelong Brentford fan who was appointed to the role in June 2022. Best known as a Rugby Sevens coach. Worked with England for seven years before leading Fiji to their first ever Olympic gold medal, at Rio 2016. Role is to “lead all aspects of player and staff performance and development” outside of technical and tactical football matters.

Consultant Sleep Coach

Has worked with the Bees since 2016, with Haslam declaring: “Besides training, I truly believe quality sleep is the biggest fundamental tool a player can use to reach peak performance on a daily basis.” Delivered an excellent presentation at TGG’s Recovery Webinar in April 2021. Works in the same role with Arsenal, and has done since July 2022.

Michael Caulfield

Consultant Psychologist

One of the UK’s leading Sport Psychologists, having been in pro sport for more than 25 years. Has worked alongside managers including Gareth Southgate, Steve Bruce and Mick Phelan, and with Dean Smith and Thomas Frank at Brentford. Also delivered an excellent session at TGG’s Recovery Webinar – on mental recovery.

Joined Fulham in July 2012 from Portsmouth, and moved on to Brentford in July 2023. Previously played as a midfielder for Blackburn, Tranmere, Oldham and Scarborough.

Appointed in September 2021 after three years as first-team performance analyst at Sheffield United. Responsible for ensuring that the coaching team have access to world-class opposition analysis as well as providing input to the assistant coaches during live games.

Was a Set Piece Analyst at Watford before joining Norwich in June 2023. He left to go to Brentford in March 2025.

Training Analyst

Role involves: ensuring that training sessions are filmed with drones or cameras; coding and tagging training sessions; producing training reports, clips and insights; live session support and post-session reviews; giving tactical and performance feedback to coaches.

Joined in April 2025 after working at Wolves for five-and-a-half years. Says his role will be to oversee data collection and lead in data processes across the Performance and Medicine department, as well as developing physical testing data systems and processes.
