FRANK LAMPARD has taken another member of Derby County’s backroom staff with him to Chelsea.

Adam Burrows has been hired as first-team strength and conditioning coach after more than eight years with the Rams. He will be reunited with former England midfielder Lampard, with whom he worked at Pride Park last season.

When Lampard took over at Chelsea in the summer, he took fitness specialist Chris Jones with him as one of his assistants.

Burrows joined Derby as an intern in July 2011, progressing to Academy and then first team S&C, a position he has held for the last three years.

In an article in January 2018, he explained his role at the club: “I work predominantly in the gym, on strength, power and areas of injury risk, so that when the players go outside, they are in the best condition to be able to deal with the training demands.”

His last day at Derby is today.
