Director of Recruitment Adam Worth has left Swansea City after almost two years as the Championship club close in on appointing a new Sporting Director.

Worth joined in September 2024 from BetMGM, initially as Head of Analytics, before being promoted to Director of Recruitment. For the last seven months he and Chief Executive Tom Gorringe have filled the Director of Football role on an interim basis following the departure of Richard Montague.

Writing on LinkedIn, Worth said: “After nearly two years at Swansea City, the time has come for me to move on to the next chapter in my career as I pursue another opportunity.

“I leave the club with immense pride in the foundations we’ve built together and the value we’ve added to the squad. I have no doubt this has set us up for future success.

“The club is in great hands – with talented staff, an ambitious ownership group, and a squad that feels in a far healthier place heading into a summer window than it has in some time.

“It was a dream fulfilled for me to go from standing on the North Bank as a child, to then being able to help guide the club I love to completing an important first step in an exciting long term recruitment plan.

“I will always value the incredible relationships I’ve built at the club and wish everyone at Swansea City all the success in the world. I hope that one day our paths cross again so we can finish what we started together.”

Meanwhile, Swansea are close to appointing a new Sporting Director, with the recruitment process at an advanced stage. Although the new person will have a different title to Montague, their remit will largely be the same, with responsibility for “all football operations and supporting the club’s recruitment strategy.”

The appointee will be Swansea’s sixth Sporting Director or equivalent in less than seven years, after Leon Britton, Mark Allen, Josh Marsh, Paul Watson and Montague.
