Returning Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has added Guilherme Ramos to his backroom staff.
Ramos joins Alan Knill and Matt Prestridge, who both return to Bramall Lane, and Michael Collins, who was working in the Academy, as part of Wilder’s team.
Wilder was put in charge of the Blades for the third time last week, having been dismissed in June, after they lost their first five Championship games of the season under his replacement Ruben Selles.
Ramos has been named First Team Coach and Wilder said: “Guilherme is someone I’ve been aware of for a while now, and he adds something a little different which will complement the talents of Alan, Matt and Micky Collins.
“He’s a young coach, but he’s built up an impressive CV working in different countries alongside some respected names in the game. I think it’s a progressive appointment for all parties and he’s someone we’re excited to be working with.”
Ramos has worked in England before as Assistant Manager of Nottingham Forest in the Championship in 2020/21.
Having played for 11 years in his native Portugal, Poland and Iceland, he moved into coaching and has worked in several countries, including Portugal, Cyprus, Bulgaria, USA and France.
Assistant Manager Knill and First Team Coach Prestridge have both worked with Wilder for many years.
They were with him in both of his previous spells at Bramall Lane and also at Northampton Town, Middlesbrough and Watford.
Collins was also part of the backroom staff during Wilder’s last spell in charge of Sheffield United, having been promoted from his role in charge of the Under-21s. He was not included under Selles, who brought in his own team, but will once again have more involvement in first-team coaching.
Wilder said it showed there is a pathway from the Academy to the first team for coaches at the club.
