At TGG and Twelve we are committed to bridging the gap between aspiring analysts and the pro game.

That’s why we’re opening applications for the third edition of Pitch to the Pros — the competition that gives TGG x Twelve Premium Members the rare opportunity to present their data-driven ideas directly to leading practitioners.

This is not just another submission. You get shortlisted, you pitch live to a panel of pros, you receive expert feedback, and the winner has their work published on the Training Ground Guru website — reaching an audience of coaches, analysts and decision-makers who shape the modern game.

The standard in the first two editions was exceptionally high. Jeffrey Eyestone won the inaugural contest in May 2025 with his xT-GK metric that could revolutionise goalkeeper analysis.

Peter Hassard took Pitch to the Pros 2 in December 2025 with his sophisticated shot-prediction modelling. Both received glowing reviews from the judging panel led by Professor David Sumpter, co-founder of Twelve.

Application process

  1. Submit a short description (max 200 words) of your idea by 15 May to info@trainingground.guru. It could be a new metric for pressing, a study on playing out from the back, a tactical model, a recruitment tool — anything that uses data to give real insight into the game.
  2. Shortlist announced 18 May.
  3. Live final: 10-minute pitches to the pro panel on Monday 25 May at 7pm.

The concept is simple

You bring the insight. We bring the platform and the audience. Twelve works with leading clubs and federations; TGG has unparalleled reach in the professional game. This is your chance to get your work seen — and critiqued — by the people who matter.

We can’t wait to see what you’ve been working on.
