Wolves’ Head of Performance Insights and Data Strategy Mathew Pearson has left the club after more than eight seasons at Molineux.

Pearson had been in his final role since September 2020, having joined the club as Head of Academy Performance Analysis in February 2017 and then having just over three years as First Team Performance Analyst.

Pearson, who was one of the club’s longest-serving members of staff, wrote on LinkedIn: “It’s been a real privilege to play a part in the club’s journey over the years, and I’ve been fortunate to work alongside some amazing people both past and present.

“I’m incredibly proud of how the analysis department has grown during that time and what we have been able to deliver across the whole club. That progress is a testament to the hard work, collaboration, and commitment of everyone involved.”

Pearson started his career with Tranmere Rovers and Blackburn Rovers before joining the Aspire Academy for Sports Excellence as a Football Performance Analyst. He then spent more than two-and-a-half years in Qatar, working for their Football Association across both their senior team in qualifiers for the World Cup and Asian Cup and also their Olympic team.
