Jon Pepper has left his role as Lincoln City Academy and Women’s Technical Director after two-and-a-half years.
Pepper is the former Burnley Academy Manager, who led their rise from Category Three to Category One status. He joined the Imps in September 2022, initially as boss of their Category Three Academy, before taking oversight of women’s football at the club too.
Lincoln had wanted to move up to Category Two at the time of Pepper’s appointment, but have since put those plans on hold. Writing on LinkedIn, Pepper said he was now open to “Academy Manager, Technical Director, consultancy services and coaching roles” and was willing to work in the UK, Africa, the United Arab Emirates, United States and Europe.
After leaving Burnley in June 2021, Pepper worked as a consultant for Nigerian club Vandrezzer and then Chesterfield. Calum Oakenfold, who stepped up from Head of Coaching to Head of Academy and Coaching in August, will now take charge of the Academy.
Lincoln placed 81st out of 86 clubs in TGG’s Academy Productivity Rankings for 2023/24. Pepper was our guest on Episode #2 of the TGG Podcast, when he took us behind the scenes at Burnley’s Academy.
