Player Development Lead Coach Dan Micciche is leaving Everton after two years to become Head of Academy at Saudi side Al-Ahli.

Micciche, who was our guest on Episode #21 of the TGG Podcast, joined Everton in February 2023 in a role focused on aiding the transition of players from Academy to first team.

Developing Arsenal's next generation

He had previously worked as Assistant at Crawley Town, Manager at MK Dons, Under-18s Lead at Arsenal and U15s and 16s Head Coach with England.

Everton Academy Director Gareth Prosser said: “Dan will be leaving the club in May after deciding to take up a new opportunity abroad. I’d like to thank him for the work he has done during his time at Everton and wish him well for the future.”

Micciche will start with Al-Ahli in June 2025. The club – who include Ivan Toney and Roberto Firmino on their first-team roster – are planning to develop their “football system, achieve long-term technical sustainability and empower young talents.”

Everton are now recruiting for a Head of Emerging Talent to replace Micciche.
