Alex Davies has been promoted to Head of Recruitment by Leeds United following the departure of Jordan Miles, TGG can reveal.
Leeds’ recruitment department has undergone a significant revamp. Former Iceland international Steinsson, who joined from Tottenham Hotspur as Technical Director in July 2023, is leaving to take up a new position with the wider 49ers Enterprises global football group, who own the club.
In his new role, Steinsson will work as a Technical Director with a focus on research and strategy across the group. Meanwhile, Miles, who arrived as Head of Recruitment from Aberdeen in February this year, is also exiting.
Davies is a long-standing and respected member of staff at the Yorkshire club. He joined more than 13 years ago as a Performance Analyst before being promoted to head up the analysis department. Under former Sporting Director Victor Orta he was moved into scouting and recruitment and was appointed Head of Recruitment Operations in February this year, working closely with Miles.
Elsewhere, Adam Underwood continues as Head of Football Operations and Hannah Cox as Head of Football Administration. Nick Hammond, who arrived as a consultant in June 2023 to help with the summer transfer window, has also stayed on and remains influential.
