Appointed to new role of Chief Football Officer by Nottingham Forest in April 2023 before Newcastle triggered his release clause in October 2025.

Joined the club in July 2025 to lead their football data operations and implement data-informed practices across all sporting departments in the men’s, women’s and Academy teams. Arrived after three seasons at Italian club Atalanta, where he was Director of Football Inteligence. His football career started in Portugal with Benfica, where he was their Head of Sports Data Science for five years. Before moving into football, he was a Program Manager for Microsoft.

Eddie Howe
Manager
A hero at Bournemouth, having risen through the ranks there as a player before becoming manager in January 2009. Led a side that had been threatened with relegation to the Conference all the way to the Premier League (with a short spell at Burnley in between). Eventually departed in May 2020. After a year out of the game he now has the opportunity to prove his credentials at one of the richest clubs in the world.

Assistant
Howe’s long-time assistant. Joined him at Bournemouth in January 2009, went with him to Burnley and came back to the Cherries to help them climb all the way to the Premier League. Succeeded Howe for a brief – and ill-fated – spell as Bournemouth’s manager, before then assisting Paul Heckingbottom at Sheffield United at the end of 2020/21.

The Gateshead-born coach is a lifelong Newcastle fan and joined the club in January 2021 from Bournemouth, where he had been first-team coach for five months. Worked with former team-mate Roberto Martinez at Swansea, Wigan, Everton and Belgium, before a brief spell as a manager in his own right, at Luton Town.

Another of Howe’s former staff from Bournemouth. Played for the Cherries for more than a decade before joining the club’s youth set-up as a coach in 2004. Progressed to become first-team coach and then assistant to Howe. Left in June 2021 when Scott Parker was appointed manager of the south coast club.

Worked with Howe and Tindall at Bournemouth, where he was Head of Academy Sport Science and Medicine and then First Team Physio. Joined Leicester as First Team Rehab Physio in July 2021 before moving onto Newcastle in February 2024.

Appointed in July 2024, having previously worked under Mitchell at AS Monaco. Described by the Sporting Director as ‘best in class’ and will oversee Performance, Medical, Sports Science, Nutrition and Psychology. Has an incredible CV, having been Head of Athletic Development at Southampton, Head of Elite Performance at the Premier League, Director of High Performance for US Soccer and Director of Performance at AS Monaco.

First Team Sports Therapist
Joined in January 2026 from Ipswich Town, where she had worked for almost 12-and-a-half years. Was a part-time First Team Sports Therapist for a year at Norwich City, while also working in Ipswich’s Academy. Promoted to Player Care Manager at Ipswich in January 2020 before moving up again in August 2021 to become First Team Sports Therapist.

Michael Emmerson
Head of Data & Insight
Was a trainee with York City, although he never made a senior appearance for the Minstermen. Internship with Chelsea led to a full-time job with them in December 2013, as Lead U18s Performance Analyst and Loan Player Analyst. Became U23s Lead Analyst and then Head of Academy Performance Analysis. Joined Newcastle as First Team Performance Analyst in August 2022 and promoted to current role in July 2023. Charged with building a “world-leading data and insight department, made up of Data Scientists, Data Analysts and Data Engineers, to support the club in using data to underpin decision making and drive value in the transfer market.”
