ANDREAS SCHLUMBERGER has been promoted to Head of Medicine and Fitness by Liverpool, while Frigyes Vanden Auweele has joined the club in the new position of Head of Osteopathy.

German Schlumberger worked with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp for four seasons at Borussia Dortmund.

The duo were reunited in December 2020 when Schlumberger moved to Anfield as Head of Recovery and Performance. In his new role he will be take charge of both the performance and medical departments (you can see the staffing lists for each HERE).

Meanwhile, Belgian Vanden Auweele has joined in the new position of Head of Osteopathy. Osteopathy is a means of detecting, treating and preventing health problems by moving, stretching and massaging muscles and joints.

As far as TGG is aware, Liverpool are the only club in the country to have this job title. Vanden Auweele previously worked for Belgian top division side OH Leuven, as well as in cycling, volleyball and private practice.

Liverpool’s staff were officially notified of the appointments of Schlumberger and Vanden Auweele via email this week.
