Rodriguez becomes third physio to leave Liverpool in 2020

JOSE LUIS RODRIGUEZ has left Liverpool after two years, making him the third physio to exit the Premier League champions this year.
The Spaniard, who joined from Aspetar in Qatar in July 2018, speaks four languages (English, Spanish, French and Arabic) and was close to forwards Sadio Mane and Mo Salah.
He is the third physio to depart in 2020 after Richie Partridge left in January to join the Qatar national team and Christopher Rohrbeck returned to his native Germany at the end of last season.
Furthermore, Medical Rehabilitation and Performance Manager Phil Jacobsen is seeing out the final year of his three-year contract in Germany on ‘special projects’, while Head of Medical Andy Massey took up a senior role with Fifa in March.
Rodriguez, who worked for the Iraq national team fromm 2016 to 2018, told Liverpool’s official website: “I’m looking for the next challenge to bring me to the next level professionally.
“It's going to be difficult, it's going to be impossible to find a better place than Liverpool. I will try to dedicate a little bit more in focusing my career in research and try to progress more technically to try to provide better sports medicine and physiotherapy for clubs or football.”
