SAM ERITH is leaving Manchester City after 11 years to join Madison Square Garden Sports Corp in New York.

Erith joined City in September 2011 from Tottenham as their Head of Sport Science, before being promoted to Head of Human Performance for the overall City Football Group in January 2014.

In this role he worked with CFG’s global network of clubs. Erith will leave for MSG Sports - who own the New York Knicks NBA team and NHL side the New York Rangers - during the break for the World Cup next month.

CFG already have a replacement for Erith in place after hiring Dan Lewindon from the LTA as Director of Player Health and Performance in August this year. The overall head of the department is Simon Timson, the Performance Director, who also joined from the LTA, in August 2020.

Erith is hugely experienced in elite sport, having been Head of Sport Science at Tottenham for six years before joining City in 2011. He was also a performance consultant for the England national team at Euro 2016.
