Wolves are in talks with Domenico Teti over becoming their new Technical Director.
If he gets the job, Teti would be part of a behind-the-scenes reshuffle which has already included the departure of Sporting Director Matt Hobbs, who has left Molineux after 10 years at the club.
Teti worked with Wolves manager Vitor Pereira at Saudi Arabian club AlShabab, where he was Sporting Director for just over a year before leaving in November 2024.
The Italian has had an extensive career and a variety of roles in the game, which he started by becoming Academy Director at Hellas Verona in 2005. After two years he moved on to become Sporting Director at FC Lugano before returning to Italy in 2011 to run the Technical department at Sampdoria for two years.
Since then he has been Sporting Director at three clubs – Novara Calcio in Italy, Apoel in Cyprus and AlShabab – while he also spent a couple of years as a Football Advisor to international clubs.
For the moment, head of professional football development Matt Jackson will lead the club’s summer recruitment. Agent Jorge Mendes and his Gestifute agency, along with his assistant Valdir Cardoso, are expected to once again play a key role in transfer policy going forward.
Jackson, who was a defender for Everton, Norwich and Wigan, originally joined Wolves in 2021 as English football’s first Strategic Player Marketing Manager.
Hobbs joined Wolves in 2015 as a Scout for the south-west of England and moved on to become Head of Emerging Talent, Head of Academy Recruitment, Chief Scout and Head of Recruitment before becoming Sporting Director in November 2022 in place of Scott Sellars.
