Welcome to the new Training Ground Guru website – THE platform for staff working in (or aspiring to work in) professional football.

This new site brings together all our content in one place for the first time. You’ll find Articles on staff movements and the latest innovations from behind the scenes at clubs and federations; all five seasons of the TGG Podcast; and our popular Jobs Board.

For the first time we are also introducing a TGG Members area, which offers enhanced features, increased insights and the ability to showcase yourself to the rest of the industry. By becoming a TGG Member, you will get access to:

  • 20+ Masterclasses & Webinars.
  • Full Academy Productivity Rankings & analysis.
  • Club Directory with 96 clubs & 1,000+ staff profiles.
  • Personal Profile builder to showcase yourself to the industry.

You can become a TGG Member for £8.99 a month and until December 1st, we have a special INTRODUCTORY OFFER of just £9.99 for three months or £29.99 for one year. Click HERE to join today.

We are coinciding the launch of the new website and brand with the launch of our exclusive Academy Productivity Rankings, which are now in their fourth edition and rank Academies according to the number of England-qualified players they produced in the 2023/24 season.

By becoming a TGG Member, you get access to the full rankings table, along with added data, context and analysis. You also get access to the three previous editions of the Rankings.

Background to the change

Training Ground Guru Founder Simon Austin said: “TGG started off as a blog and Twitter account in 2017 and has grown to incorporate a podcast, jobs board, online events and an annual conference. We wanted the new website to incorporate all of these elements in one place – and for the brand and logo to reflect what TGG has now become.

“We remain as committed as ever to bringing insights from the brightest minds in football and beyond, as well as keeping people up-to-date with the latest staff movements, but also wanted to have a section for dedicated members. This is the place where you can get enhanced information and insights, showcase your skills and experience, and interact with the rest of the industry.”

The original TGG site will remain accessible as an archive but all new content will be hosted here. The new TGG website was built by Cotton, with a new logo and brand created by Ensemble. Both are based in Manchester, like TGG.

Martin Power, co-founder of Ensemble, said: “The idea was to shift TGG from a playful aesthetic to a more mature brand. It’s the goal of the new brand to become a badge of excellence for elite sports content in the years to come.”

James Seddon, founder of Cotton, added: “Watching the design and development that I created seven years ago grow into the well-established ‘go-to’ site it has become has been a pleasure. When Simon got in touch about the evolution of the site and the direction he would like TGG to go in, it made sense to give it a freshen up with a new look and a new admin system.”

We hope you enjoy using the new website and, as ever, we welcome your feedback. You can get in touch at info@trainingground.guru.
