The former Scotland international played under Eddie Howe and then worked with him as Technical Director from 2014. Leads on scouting and recruitment. Was linked with a move to Celtic with Howe in the summer of 2021.
ASSISTANT TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
Former Cherries captain who made 324 appearances during nine years at Vitality Stadium. Works closely with Hughes and the recruitment department to identify and secure transfer targets. Upon Francis’s appointment to the role in June 2021, Hughes said: “Having shared a dressing room with Simon as AFC Bournemouth players, I know first hand that his knowledge of the game is exceptional.”
The former Premier League midfielder joined the club under Jonathan Woodgate in February 2021, having previously been U23s assistant at Liverpool. Had 12 games as interim manager following sacking of Scott Parker and then made permanent boss at the end of November.
Made 628 appearances for the Cherries, scoring 103 goals. Became a scout and then assistant first-team coach after retiring.
Left Liverpool after a decade to join the Cherries in December 2022. Began his career as an analyst with Prozone in 2001 and joined the Reds in 2012, initially as Academy Head of Analysis. Was Head of Individual Development from summer of 2022. Knows O’Neil from his time as Liverpool U23s assistant from August 2020 to February 2021.
Most successful captain in Bournemouth’s history. Skippered the Cherries to two promotions - to the Championship in 2012/13 and the Premier League in 2014/15. Joined coaching staff in September 2021 as Under-23s (subsequently U21s) coach. Promoted to first-team set-up when O'Neil took charge at end of 2022.
Made 240 appearances for the club between 2005 and 2012 and returned in in October 2018 as U13s coach. Became U23s lead in November 2018 when Carl Fletcher was appointed Loans Manager. Joined the first-team set-up when O'Neil became Head Coach at the end of 2022.
HEAD OF GOALKEEPING
Returns as Head of Goalkeeping in December 2022, 18 months after leaving the club. Was sacked in June 2021 following arrival of Scott Parker, who had brought in his own goalkeeping coach (Rob Burch). Has a long association with the Cherries, having made 211 senior appearances for them and then been goalkeeper coach from June 2009 to 2021.
PERFORMANCE & MEDICAL
HEAD OF SPORTS MEDICINE
Nationality: South African
Hugely experienced and a firm believer in sharing knowledge about science and medicine in football. Joined Bournemouth in 2015. Was previously Head of Medical for the South Africa and Natal Sharks rugby teams.
HEAD OF PERFORMANCE
Came in with Parker in June 2021, having previously been at Fulham for 11 years. Started with the Cottagers as an intern in 2010 before progressing to become Head of Sport Science and then Head of Performance.
LEAD PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE COACH
Another who arrived with Parker, having worked with the Head Coach at Fulham and Tottenham. Was with the Cottagers from October 2020 and with Spurs for five-and-a-half years, as first-team S&C and performance and reconditioning coach.
Joined in September 2016 from leading GPS firm STATSports. In that role, had been placed with Republic of Ireland (above), working with them at Euro 2016.
Worked in rugby union with Saracens and the Melbourne Rebels before joining Bournemouth in September 2017.
Former pro who played up front for Luton and Boston United during his playing career. Became a physio after retiring and worked for AFC Wimbledon for seven years before joining Bournemouth in October 2020.
In post since June 2011. Was an intern at Reading before that.
PERFORMANCE NUTRITION CONSULTANT
Was Lead Performance Nutritionist with QPR and Arsenal before joining Bournemouth in the summer of 2022. Wrote this piece about protein bars for TGG in April 2018.
Joined Cherries in 2012, having been part of Harry Redknapp's backroom team at Portsmouth. Has also worked for Cardiff City and the Football Association of Wales.
Started as an intern and was made permanent in June 2014.
Started at the club as an analyst in October 2016, before taking up his current role in June 2017.
Joined in January 2022 from Swansea City.
Joined the club in July 2016, first as assistant pre-match and set plays analyst, before taking up his current role in June 2018.
