Spurs appoint Grocott as key figure in recruitment team

Tottenham Hotspur have named Stockport County's Head of Academy Recruitment Ryan Grocott as the North West Lead in their recruitment department.

Grocott had been at Stockport since January 2023 after eight-and-a-half years at Stoke City, where he was Youth Development Phase Coach and then Senior Academy Scout.

After avoiding relegation from the Premier League in May, Spurs Chairman Peter Charrington wrote an open letter to fans in which he said the club would commit to a variety of pledges, including increasing investment in their Academy “to ensure that the pathway from youth football to the first team is one of the strongest in the country”.

Players to successfully come through Spurs’ Academy to the first team include England captain Harry Kane and more recently Mikey Moore and Will Lankshear.
