Scotland Set Piece Coach Hughes joining Athletic Bilbao

Scotland Set Piece Coach Andrew Hughes is joining Athletic Bilbao in the same role.

Hughes, who worked with the Scotland team at the World Cup finals, moves to the La Liga club a week after leaving Leicester City, where he had been Set Piece Coach for the past two seasons.

He has also been Set Piece Coach at Crystal Palace, Huddersfield and Norwich, while he has worked as First Team Coach at Bolton and Sheffield Wednesday and as Lead Under-23 coach at Sheffield United.

Hughes played more than 500 games as a midfielder in a 19-year career, making more than 100 appearances for each of Notts County, Reading and Leeds.

He was appointed as Bilbao’s Set Piece Coach by new Head Coach Edin Terzic, who took over this summer.
