Alex Ramsay has left his role as Brighton’s Goalkeeper Scouting Manager after 17 months to become Head of National Goalkeeping for Wales.

Ramsay, who is the brother of former Manchester United Assistant Eric (who is now Head Coach of Minnesota United in the MLS), had worked for the Seagulls since July 2023 and was part of their position-specific scouting team.

In his new role, he will oversee Wales’ national goalkeeping department from the Under-21s down, including coaching, coach education and recruitment. The Welshman will bridge the gap between the youth and senior pathways, working closely with Senior Goalkeeper Coach Martyn Margetson.

There have been a number of exits from Brighton’s scouting department in the last month.

Senior Scouting Manager Pete Bulmer, Centre Forward Scouting Manager John Doolan and Emerging Talent Manager Charlie Hutton were all made redundant last month, as revealed by TGG.

Academy Recruitment Operations Co-ordinator Noah Hustler announced his exit last week and Nathan Marshall, Academy Recruitment Operations Manager for the 15s to 21s, has been appointed Academy Head of Recruitment at Wycombe Wanderers.
