Rob Quinn has been appointed Professional Development Phase Coach at Wycombe Wanderers after almost 14 years at Crystal Palace.
The former midfielder played almost 500 senior games for clubs including Palace, Brentford and Bristol Rovers. He returned to Palace as a coach in 2011 and was Head Coach for their Under-16s and U18s.
Wycombe Head of Football Development Matt Dye, who joined in November 2024 from Norwich, said: “We are delighted to attract and appoint a coach of Rob’s experience and calibre.
“Rob is someone who has a lot of experience working with high-level Academy players and is someone who will accelerate and add to the work we are already doing.”
Writing on LinkedIn, Quinn added: “After nearly 14 years coaching at Crystal Palace it is now time to seek new beginnings. From coming into Crystal Palace as a young player at 14 to playing for the first team and playing at Wembley in the Championship Play-Off Final at 19.
“I have gained invaluable experience coaching in every age group, which led to me becoming Head Coach of the U18s for the last four seasons, working with David Ozoh, Kaden Rodney, Asher Agbinone, Hindolo Mustapha, Zach Marsh, Mofe Jemide and Jesse Derry.
“I will always be grateful to the club for giving me the platform to play professional football and also the opportunity to return as an elite coach and help develop the careers of many future Crystal Palace players.”
Wycombe, who are now under the ownership of Kazakh billionaire Mikheil Lomtadze, have applied for Category Four Academy status from the start of 2025/26, having previously scrapped their Academy in 2012. Youth development is forming a major part of the club’s overall strategy.
Wycombe’s Academy Director is Jeremy Sauer, who joined from Brighton last August.
