Biography
Software Architect & Goalkeeper Coach | Data Platforms & Constraints-Led Methodology
I am a pragmatic problem solver operating at the intersection of modern data architecture and elite goalkeeper development. Trained in predictive human-computer interaction at the UMich AI Lab, my philosophy is defined by a single objective: bridging the gap between isolated theory and dynamic reality. Whether architecting serverless Lakehouse platforms or designing high-fidelity training environments, I apply the same principles of systems-thinking and cognitive processing to both digital infrastructure and player development.
As a Software Architect and Data Platform Specialist, I transform complex infrastructure into scalable, modern analytics solutions. Building on my Ph.D. coursework in formal cognitive AI, my current engineering focus is directly aligned with modern sports analytics:
-
The “(Right! Luxury!) Lakehouse”: Creator of an open-source, serverless soccer analytics platform built on Databricks.
-
Data Engineering: Leveraging Medallion Architecture to process 38M+ rows of high-frequency 25fps optical tracking data.
-
Advanced Metrics: Calculating physics-based pitch control, expected threat (xT), and ML-driven SPADL/VAEP action valuations (XGBoost).
On the pitch, as a UEFA C and Advanced National Goalkeeper Coach, I translate this systems-level approach to player development. Mentored by former Manchester United GK Coach Eric Steele, I design sessions that prioritize perception-action coupling over scripted drills:
-
Ecological Dynamics: Utilizing a Constraints-Led Approach (CLA) and Representative Learning Design (RLD).
-
Game Context: Moving goalkeepers away from isolated technical repetition and toward “repetition without repetition.”
-
Emergent Behavior: Ensuring that goalkeeping actions emerge naturally from tactical decision-making and live-play scenarios.
As an enrollee in the upcoming Soccermatics Pro cohort (August 2026), my ultimate goal is to merge deep data engineering with modern ecological dynamics—building digital pipelines that uncover the reality of the game, and training environments that prepare players to thrive within it.
