Biography

Gareth is Group Sporting Director at the Harburg Group, a multi-club ownership platform spanning Al Kholood FC in the Saudi Pro League, a shareholding in Cádiz CF, and interests in African football. He leads sporting strategy, recruitment and football operations across the group.

He sits on the Technical Committee of the Association of Sporting Directors, is a member of the FAW Technical Advisory Board, and is a Non-Executive Director (Football) at Grimsby Town FC in the English Football League. He previously served as Technical Director of the UAE Pro League.

His career spans senior technical roles across the global game, including Head of Technical Leadership at FIFA and General Manager, High Performance at New Zealand Football. He advises clubs internationally and is a co-author of the FIFA Technical Directors Handbook.

Gareth holds an MSc in International Sports Law (ISDE, Madrid) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Financial Analysis (London School of Economics), and completed the Executive Leadership Programme at the University of Oxford. He is a holder of the UEFA Pro Licence, the FA Advanced Youth Award, and the FIFA Technical Directors Licence.
