Norwich City promote Cornes to Performance Scientist
Norwich City have appointed Michael Cornes as their new First Team Performance Scientist following the completion of his applied PhD studentship.
The three-year doctorate programme was run in partnership with the University of Birmingham, where Cornes focused on athlete behaviour and the club’s state-of-the-art recovery hub.
His promotion marks the first official appointment within the Canaries’ newly-integrated performance department. Under the supervision of the University’s Liam Anderson and club staff, Cornes’ academic insights will now translate directly into daily first-team training protocols.
Writing on LinkedIn, Cornes said: “I’m excited to continue applying elements of this research within the role and helping build on the work already taking place at the club.”
