Assistant Head of Recruitment Mariela Nisotaki has left Norwich City after eight years to join Sport Republic, who own Southampton.
Nisotaki, who was our guest on Episode #34 of the TGG Podcast, joined the Canaries in January 2017 as First Team Technical Scout. After that she went on to become Head of Emerging Talent and, in September 2024, the Assistant Head of Recruitment to Lee Dunn.
As one of the few female scouts in the field, Nisotaki has been a true football pioneer. She also played a key role in developing Norwich’s South American scouting operation, which led to the arrival of Gabriel Sara and Marcelino Nunez.
At Sport Republic, Nisotaki will be working across the group of clubs – Southampton, Valenciennes in France and Göztepe in Turkey. Her title will be Head of Talent Acquisition, focusing on the 16 to 19 age group.
Speaking on the TGG Podcast, Nisotaki, who grew up in Greece and worked for Swansea City before joining Norwich, said: “I am quite ambitious. At the moment I am really very happy and lucky to be in an environment I am learning every day.
“I am very lucky I got opportunities here and that my role has progressed, getting different responsibilities and experiences which will help me a lot in the future. I am very passionate about what I am doing. I really like leadership roles.
“It’s a really good club (Norwich). You get opportunities, as happened with me. You just have to work hard and continue improving and learning. Everything else takes care of itself.”
