Newcastle United want to expand their first team Training Centre at Darsley Park, while continuing to search for a new site.
The Magpies have submitted planning permission for 1,350 square metres of new accommodation, which they want to use for office and meeting space as well as extra support facilities.
The club also wants to reconfigure the existing building to provide more treatment spaces and staff support areas, while increasing the size of the players’ lounge and improving front-of-house facilities.
Temporary buildings would be removed as part of the upgrade, while there would be changes to car park areas, which would include accessible parking spaces.
Currently 140 people occupy the site and there would be no increase in that number once the upgrade is completed.
The plans would build on significant work already carried out to improve the site in recent years.
If the work is approved, the club expects it to be completed in the summer of 2026.
