Morgan leaves FA to become Hughes’ number two at Man Utd

Gareth Morgan is leaving the FA after 12 years to join Manchester United in the new role of Assistant Head of Academy Football Development and Methodology.

He will be number two to Darren Hughes, who joined United from Manchester City in March in the newly-created role of Head of Academy Football Development and Methodology. The roles focus on long-term player and coach development, methodology, coaching programmes, competency frameworks and alignment with the Elite Player Performance Plan.
