Jordan McCann has left Blackburn Rovers after two years to take up the new position of Academy Full-Time Model Lead and Technical Coach at Arsenal.
The remit of the role is to deliver Arsenal’s “full-time training model coaching remit” and lead on the coaching programme for all of the players in full-time education with the club. This will involve “delivering and developing performance pathways and plans” and “creating an optimum environment for players to develop and grow.”
This will be underpinned by Arsenal’s four pillars, which are: creating effective team players, lifelong learners and most efficient movers with a champion mentality.
McCann joined Blackburn as Head of Academy Coaching in October 2022, following three-and-a-half years as Academy Manager at Lincoln City. Prior to this he had been Head of Academy Coaching at Luton, spending a total of nine years with the Hatters.
His replacement as Head of Coaching at Category One Blackburn Rovers is John Prince, who steps up from Senior Youth Development Coach. Prince joined Rovers in May 2021 from Preston and worked at Burnley prior to that.
