Jay Lefevre is leaving his role as Head of Scouting Operations at Celtic after six years to become Chief Scout at Swansea City.

Lefevre joined Celtic in December 2019 under former Head of Football Operations Nick Hammond. During his time with the club he has worked with three Head Coaches – Neil Lennon, Ange Postecoglou and Brendan Rodgers.

Writing on LinkedIn, he described his role as “building, maintaining and managing all strategic processes whilst leading a group of scouts to identify players that align with the club’s recruitment model.”

Prior to Celtic, Lefevre worked for Arsenal as Head of Video Scouting and Analysis. He will start work at Swansea in December.

The Swans have overhauled their scouting operation recently following the exit in September of Director of Football Richard Montague after just eight months.

Head of Scouting James Morgan-Snowley, Lead Scout Andrew McGregor and Lead Emerging Talent Scout Connor Rowden – all brought to the club by Montague – have departed after short tenures.

Rowden has since been appointed as a Technical Scout at Italian giants AC Milan.

Writing on LinkedIn in September, Morgan-Snowley, said: “This chapter has ended earlier than I would have liked, but I am incredibly happy with what we achieved in my six months with the club.

“We signed some outstanding players and characters in a testing environment and the playing squad is in a far better place than when we arrived.

“It’s been widely accepted that the club has had the best window in its recent history and for that I am incredibly proud. I hope this group we helped put together can go on and achieve the success they’re capable of this season and beyond.”

Swansea are currently 18th in the Championship and sacked Head Coach Alan Sheehan earlier this week. Chief Executive Tom Gorringe and Head of Recruitment Adam Worth are leading the process of appointing a successor.
