Kilmarnock’s Stewart appointed U21s Goalkeeper Coach at Newcastle

Newcastle United have appointed Fraser Stewart as their new Under-21s Goalkeeping Coach.

The 37-year-old joins from Kilmarnock, where he had been First Team Goalkeeping Coach since 2022, working under Derek McInnes, Stuart Kettlewell and Neil McCann.

Stewart previously spent nine years as a coach with the Scottish FA and held youth roles at Rangers, Aberdeen and Ayr United. He will work under Under-21s Lead Coach Robbie Stockdale at the Premier League club.

He arrives after a summer of change in the club’s goalkeeping department. Head of Goalkeeping Adam Bartlett left after seven years when Head Coach Matthias Jaissle brought in Alexander Bade as first-team Goalkeeping Coach, and Goalkeeping Assistant Coach Daniel Garcia had already departed for Aston Villa.
