Therefore, we require a hard-working, open-minded, passionate & humble individual within the role of PDP Physical Development Coach. The purpose of the role will be to contribute to a world-leading environment and MDT provision by planning, delivering and monitoring physical development provision for academy players integrated with other domains of player development and support, with a particular focus on the U18 age group.
This exciting new position in our Academy will be responsible for:
- Enhancing the physical capability of PDP phase players to perform on the grass.
- Supporting availability by ensuring players are prepared beyond the demands of the game.
- Supporting players in recognising their strengths and development needs.
- Supporting players in developing a rounded view of their holistic development.
- Planning and implementing training opportunities both on and off the grass to enhance player performance and robustness.
- Integrating performance planning with technical coaches and other members of the multi-disciplinary team to support efficiency of training delivery and optimise transfer to football performance.
- Integrating performance planning with medical staff to support player availability and rehabilitation.
- Utilising appropriate technologies to evaluate training and progression.
- Ensuring training loads are managed and progressed safely.
- Ensuring player data is managed securely, and organised and presented to facilitate effective decision making.
Do you have what it takes?
The successful candidate will need to hold the following qualifications:
- BSc degree in Strength & Conditioning, Sport Science, Coaching or equivalent
- Physical development relevant vocational education or qualifications such as UKSCA ASCC.
- FA Safeguarding Children Certificate
- Emergency First Aid Certificate
- Valid and accepted enhanced FA DBS CRC (Criminal Background Check) or be willing to undertake this check if successful
You will have experience of performance provision in an elite sporting environment and ideally experience in football.
