As an ambitious top club with a clear identity and great tradition, we aim to develop young talents from our youth Academy (NLZ) into professional players with strong character traits and outstanding football skills, enabling them to succeed both on and off the pitch through a holistic development concept.

For the Sports department, we are looking for a Loan & Pathway Manager (all genders) as soon as possible for a full-time position (40 hours/week).

Your core responsibilities

As a Loan & Pathway Manager, you will play a key role at the interface between the youth Academy and the professional team, acting as a central contact person for loan players and top talents (TT) with operational responsibility. Your main tasks include:

Loan Management:

  • Analysing and identifying suitable loan clubs for individual development pathways
  • Supporting loaned players and conducting regular visits to loan clubs
  • Acting as the central contact person for loan clubs and assisting in co-ordinating TT (training, match and development plans)
  • Preparing, managing and negotiating loan deals in collaboration with the sports management
  • Creating structured performance reports and transparently communicating them to the sports management

Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Preparing regular status reports, potential analyses and development forecasts
  • Using data-driven tools for objective evaluation of player development and loan stations in consultation with the Head of Data Scouting and Sports IT

Network & Relationship Management:

  • Building and maintaining a reliable network with national and international clubs, advisors and partners
  • Acting as the contact person for transition players and their environment
  • Representing the club in exchanges with sports decision-makers, co-operation partners and associations

Loan & Development Planning:

  • Advising the sports management on loan options
  • Close co-ordination with TT coaches and TT co-ordinator, the medical and performance department, education and scouting

Your profile

  • Several years of experience in professional football as a player or coach (at least in performance-oriented youth football/youth Academy) and/or in scouting with a focus on the assessment of player development potentials
  • Proven structured and forward-thinking work approach
  • Experience in supporting and developing TT
  • Ability to connect with adolescents and young adults with empathy and authority
  • Strong communication skills as well as high teamwork, loyalty and integrity
  • High level of responsibility and organisational skills
  • Confident and assertive demeanour with strong persuasive skills
  • High resilience, flexibility and willingness to travel (situationally at more than 50%)
  • Language flexibility (German, English, preferably a third language)
