The role of the B Team Analyst
The successful candidate will lead and implement the Analysis provision of the B Team, whilst working alongside the Head of Academy Analysis. They will ensure that the B Team has outstanding analysis whilst helping maintain the analysis provision for the whole of the Academy.
Main accountabilities
- Film, code and produce reports for all B team fixtures in line with the Club’s style of play.
- Liaise with the B Team Head Coach and Head of Academy Analysis on daily requirements.
- Film and analyse training when required.
- Ensure fixtures are uploaded to relevant platforms and shared with relevant individuals.
- Produce opposition analysis where available.
- Debrief games on a team/individual level with video and stats to players and staff.
- Maintain statistical databases on style of play.
- Assist with recruitment player dossiers, monthly reports and reviews.
- Follow an analysis support programme with detailed provision for all players.
- Supervise feedback of match and educational content to all players and coaching staff, ensuring most applicable method and style is used.
- Oversee and work alongside other members of the Analysis Department to provide individual analysis for the academy using subjective and objective data.
- Complete other tasks as requested by the Head of Academy Analysis, Head of Analysis, B Team Staff and Academy Management.
- Collaborate with the Academy Director and the rest of the Academy Leadership Team to maintain an outstanding Academy performance and technical development programme.
- Ensure that the Academy Analysis Department complies with all EPPP requirements.
- Maintain relevant databases and PMA information.
- To ensure that any concerns you observe, or are raised with you in your role, are shared with the Safeguarding Team through appropriate channels.
General club accountabilities

Person specification - Essential personal characteristics
- 1st Class / 2:1 Degree
- Experience working in elite football, PDP age groups or higher
- Experience using analysis-related softwares (WyScout, Angles, RT Tactic Pro or similar)
- Highly analytical and high level of attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure & meet deadlines
- Ability to work unsociable hours as required involving work outside normal office hours; evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays
- Must be able to travel abroad for games schedule
- Effective at preparing, planning and implementing workloads and schedules
- A dynamic, hardworking and enthusiastic individual
- Proactive decision maker with excellent communication skills, to work alongside other departments
- Understands Health & Safety principles and practices
Person specification - Desirable characteristics
- Masters in a Performance Analysis / Sports Science discipline
- Coaching experience / qualifications
- Experience with Tableau / Excel
