Four members of Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth coaching staff have followed him to Liverpool, while Tactical Analyst Roderick van der Haam has announced his departure from the club.

Tommy Elphick and Shaun Cooper (pictured) have joined the Reds as First-Team Coaches, Pablo de la Torre has arrived as Assistant and Tom Webber has been appointed Tactical Analyst.

All four worked under Iraola throughout his three-year spell at Bournemouth, which ended with the Cherries achieving their highest-ever Premier League finish of sixth last season.

Elphick made more than 400 senior appearances in English football as a player, including spells at Brighton, Bournemouth and Aston Villa. He captained the Cherries through two promotions as the club rose through the divisions to reach the Premier League for the first time in 2015.

He retired as a player in 2021 and began coaching with Bournemouth’s Academy, before being promoted to first-team duties by then-manager Gary O’Neil in 2022/23 season.

Cooper made more than 200 appearances for Bournemouth across a seven-year spell as a player between 2005 and 2012 and also captained the side. He retired in 2017 and returned to the club the following year as Development Squad Head Coach.

He was promoted to a first-team role under O’Neil at the same time as Elphick, and remained part of the coaching set-up once Iraola took over.

De la Torre will now work alongside Iraola at a fourth different club. The pair first worked together at AEK Larnaca in 2018/19, before reuniting for the whole of Iraola’s tenure at Rayo Vallecano between 2020 and 2023. De la Torre then followed his compatriot to Bournemouth in 2023.

Webber joins the Reds after a decade in performance analysis at Bournemouth. He gained early experience at Birmingham City and Leicester City before becoming the Cherries’ First-Team Performance Analyst in the summer of 2016, and was promoted to senior first-team performance analyst in 2024.

Final member of Slot’s staff departs

Van der Haam has left Liverpool after two seasons, making him the final member of Slot’s staff to leave the club.

The Tactical Analyst joined Liverpool in November 2024, having previously worked with Slot at Feyenoord, where he held the role of Senior First-Team Video Analyst.

Writing on LinkedIn, Van der Haam said: “It has been a privilege to work for such a club, but even more so to share every day with many great people. I’ve enjoyed all of it, without a single regret.

“To all the staff and everyone at the AXA Training Centre and Anfield: thank you for a period I’ll always look back on with so much joy and gratitude. Being part of the group that won the Premier League in 24/25 was the highlight of it all, a wonderful memory I’ll carry with me.

“But as a family, we’ll carry an even bigger memory (for life). Because our time here gave us not only a great experience and a fresh perspective, it also brought us the birth of our son.

Van der Haam is a TGG Member and has his own profile on the TGG website.

Earlier this summer Assistants Sipke Hulshoff and Giovanni van Bronckhorst confirmed they were leaving, along with Lead Physical Performance Coach Ruben Peeters.

Individual Development Lead Luiz Fernando Iubel, Head of Goalkeeping Xavi Valero and Goalkeeper Development and Pathway Lead Colin Stewart all remain at the club.

Iraola was appointed as Slot’s successor last month on a two-year deal.
