Hargeaves appointed Head of Academy Recruitment at Palace

Chris Hargreaves has been appointed Head of Academy Recruitment at Crystal Palace following three years as National Recruitment Manager at Brighton.

The former midfielder, who made 646 league appearances over 21 years for clubs including Hull, West Brom and Northampton, left Brighton in May as part of a scouting overhaul at the club.

At Palace, he takes over from Wesley Awad, who joined Birmingham for eight months before becoming Head of Academy Recruitment at Newcastle United in August.

Hargreaves managed Torquay and Yeovil, was First Team Coach at Bournemouth and spent six years at Bristol Rovers as Chief Scout, Development Squad coach and Academy Manager.
