Five of Marco Silva’s Fulham backroom team are following the Head Coach out of Craven Cottage.
The club announced Silva’s departure, after five years in charge, on Tuesday and now his Assistant Manager Goncalo Santos, First Team Coach Goncalo Pedro, Goalkeeper Coach Fernando Ferreira, Head of Performance Bruno Mendes (pictured) and Analyst Antonis Lemonakis are also leaving west London.
Pedro has been with Silva for his entire managerial career, with the pair working together at Estoril, Sporting, Olympiakos, Hull City, Watford and Everton before moving to Fulham.
Lemonakis joined the journey at Olympiakos and followed Silva from club to club after that, while Santos worked with him at Estoril and Mendes at Everton. Only Ferreira had never worked with him before – joining the Cottagers in December 2024.
Silva has been linked with a move to Benfica and if he becomes their new Head Coach, he will be reunited quickly with Mendes and Ferreira, who are both rejoining the Lisbon club.
Mendes was head of the club’s Benfica Lab for 12 of the 15 years he spent there. He founded the Lab in 2006, saying on LinkedIn that it “incorporates a multidisciplinary team of 23 specialists and strives to produce a better technical and scientific approach to sports science in order to better address the different challenges of modern football and modern players”.
It will be Ferreira’s third spell with the club. He was B Team Goalkeeper Coach in his first stint and returned to that role in his second stay before being promoted to First Team Goalkeeper Coach.
