Everton have appointed their former striker Nick Chadwick as their Individual Development Lead Coach.

Chadwick joins the Toffees for the third time, having also coached Under-10s and Under-11s in their Academy from 2010 to 2012, after two years working at Wrexham, where he was Professional Development Phase (PDP) Lead.

For his first season in north Wales he was also Head of Coaching and last season he was Head of Player Pathway and Development.

In his new role, which he starts next Monday September 1st, Chadwick will lead a group of two additional coaches working across the Academy to have a clear individual focus on players.

Everton’s Player Development Lead Coach Dan Micciche left the club in April to become Head of Academy at Saudi club Al-Ahli.

Coaching while playing

Chadwick made just under 300 senior appearances in a playing career which took him from Everton to permanent spells with Plymouth Argyle (twice), Hereford United, Chester, Barrow, Stockport County and Tamworth.

He started coaching while still playing – following his work in Everton’s Academy by becoming an Under-16 Academy coach in his second spell at Plymouth.

After retiring from playing, his first job was as Academy Manager at Warrington Town, before spending almost two years as Under-15 Academy Coach at Blackburn Rovers and then more than four years at Wigan Athletic as Senior PDP Lead and Under-23s and Under-18s Coach.

He then had almost two seasons as Assistant Manager at AFC Fylde and eight months in the same role at Rochdale before joining Wrexham in September 2023.
