Former Nottingham Forest players Ian Woan, Steve Stone, Tony Loughlan and Billy Mercer have been named as Sean Dyche’s assistants at the club.
Dyche, 54, was today named as Forest’s third Manager of the season, having signed a contract to the summer of 2027. He has named the same quartet of assistants who worked alongside him during almost a decade at Burnley.
Woan (pictured) and Stone both played alongside Dyche for Nottingham Forest’s Academy. Although Dyche failed to make a senior appearance for the club, Stone played 193 games for them and Woan 218.
Woan then worked alongside Dyche throughout his managerial career, at Watford, Burnley and Everton, while Stone started working with him for the Clarets in 2018 and followed him to Everton in 2023.
Goalkeeper Coach Mercer, who spent time on loan on Trentside in 1995 as a player, was Dyche’s keeper coach at Burnley and for most of his time at Everton.
Loughlan, who represented the Reds between 1989 and 1993, was Dyche’s First Team Coach at Burnley but did not join him at Everton.
Predecessor Ange Postecoglou, who was in charge of Forest for just 39 days, had brought four assistants in with him: Assistants Nick Montgomery, Mile Jedinak and Sergio Raimundo and Goalkeeper Coach Rob Burch.
All have now departed along with the Australian.
