Carlos Corberán has named his new backroom staff at Valencia – including former Bradford City, Manchester United and West Brom coach Martin Drury.
The 41-year-old was appointed Valencia boss on Christmas Day, with a deal to the end of the 2026/27 season. He has taken six staff with him from West Brom, where he had been in charge for just over two years.
They are: Marcos Abad (Goalkeeping Coach), Jorge Alarcón (Assistant), Josep Alcácer (Assistant), Martin Drury (Assistant), Rafael Aranda (Fitness Coach) and Ángel de las Heras (Assistant). All six had worked alongside Corberán at West Brom.
Drury, 38, was working for Bradford City’s Academy as Head of Coaching just two-and-a-half years ago. He had worked in a variety of roles for the Bantams over the course of six years, including U14s to U16s Lead, U18s Coach and first-team assistant.
It was at Bradford that he got to know Corberán, who was Under-23s Lead and Assistant to Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds United at the time. In August 2022, Drury joined Manchester United as U15s Lead, before being reunited with Corberán again at West Brom in August 2024.
"With the spirit of the people of this incredible city and the confidence in our players, we can achieve great things."

At the time of the appointment, the Spaniard said: “I would like to welcome Martin to The Hawthorns as a new member of my coaching staff. I know him personally and professionally from my first year in the UK. I have a huge amount of respect for him as both a person and as a coach.
“I am confident Martin will make a valuable contribution to my team, our players, and the club.”
At Valencia, Drury will have a specific focus on individual development. Writing on Twitter yesterday (January 2nd), in Spanish, he said: “I am very happy to have arrived at Valencia. It is a great challenge, but with the spirit of the people of this incredible city and the confidence in our players, we can achieve great things in the future. LET’S GO! UP VALENCIA!”
Chris Brunt, Boaz Myhill and Damia Abella have taken interim charge of the Baggies until a permanent successor to Corberán is appointed.
