De Zerbi arrives at Tottenham with slimmed-down staff

Roberto De Zerbi is bringing only two assistants with him to Tottenham  – but there are no plans to bring in the other five members of his regular backroom staff.

The Italian, 46, was appointed as Tottenham’s new Head Coach on a five-year contract on March 31st. There were assumptions in some quarters that he would bring in the same seven assistants who worked with him at both Brighton and Marseille.

However, only two have come in:

  • Marcattilio Marcattilii (Fitness Coach): Known as Marco, he began working with De Zerbi at Italian side Foggia in 2015 and went with him to Palermo, Benevento, Sassuolo and Shakhtar Donetsk.
  • Marcello Quinto (Senior Professional Development Phase Coach): Played under De Zerbi as a midfielder at Foggia. Coached at Fiorentina’s Academy after retiring in 2020 and then joined De Zerbi at Brighton in January 2023. Went with him to Marseille in July 2024.

The rest of De Zerbi’s staff will be made up of five coaches who joined the club under Thomas Frank in July 2025 – plus Bruno Saltor, who was appointed to assist Igor Tudor:

  • Andreas Georgson (Assistant): Set Piece specialist who has coached at Brentford, Arsenal, Southampton and Manchester United, as well as being Head Coach at Lillestrom and Sporting Director at Malmo.
  • Cameron Campbell (Individual Development Coach): Coached at Aberdeen’s Academy before becoming Head of the Lower Academy (11s to 15s) at Right to Dream. Then U18s Lead at Rangers and Head of Player Development at RB Leipzig.
  • Fabian Otte (Goalkeeping Coach): Joined from Liverpool, where he had worked in 2024/25. Has also been Head Goalkeeper Coach for the US Men’s National Team and for Borussia Monchengladbach, Burnley and Hoffenheim.
  • Stuart Lewis (Transition Coach): Role is to “aid the development and integration of our young players into the senior set-up.” Previously Tottenham’s U18s Lead for four seasons.
  • Dean Brill (Assistant Goalkeeper Coach): Promoted from Head of Academy Goalkeeping in July 2025.
  • Bruno Saltor (Assistant): Graham Potter’s Assistant at Brighton, Chelsea and West Ham, who arrived at Spurs in February 2026.

Tottenham have been happy with the work of the six coaches and are keen to keep club appointments and maintain continuity.

That means five members of staff who worked with De Zerbi at both Brighton and Marseille have NOT made the move to Tottenham – and at the moment there are no plans for them to do so. They are:

  • Andrea Maldera (Assistant): Video analyst with AC Milan from 2006 to 2016. Then Assistant to Andriy Shevchenko with the Ukraine national team, before joining Brighton, where he lived with De Zerbi. Went with him to Marseille.
  • Enrico Venturelli (Assistant): De Zerbi’s Assistant at Shakhtar Donetsk, having previously worked for FIFA and UEFA. Went with him to Brighton and Marseille.
  • Ricard Segarra (Goalkeeping Coach): Spaniard worked for Barcelona’s U18, U19 and B teams before departing for Galatasaray in January 2022. First teamed up with De Zerbi at Brighton.
  • Vincenzo Teresa (Fitness Coach): Has worked with De Zerbi throughout his career – at Palermo, Benevento, Sassuolo, Shakhtar Donetsk, Brighton and Marseille.
  • Agostino Tibaudi (Fitness Coach): Joined De Zerbi’s staff at Sassuolo and continued to work with him at Shaktar Donetsk, Brighton and Marseille. Prior to this, the Italian had worked with Sampdoria, AC Milan, Cagliari and, for a season, under Claudio Ranieri at Chelsea.
