Crystal Palace appoint Quy as First Team Goalkeeping Coach
Crystal Palace have appointed Andy Quy as Goalkeeping Coach for their first team.
He replaces Dean Kiely, who left Palace in the summer after more than seven years in the role. Julian Speroni filled in while the club searched for Kiely’s permanent successor.
Quy has performed the same role at Lincoln City, Stoke City, Brentford, Charlotte FC, where he was also Assistant Coach, and most recently Huddersfield Town. He has also worked in goalkeeping coaching at different levels for Derby County, Aston Villa and Burton Albion.
He was a goalkeeper himself – starting his career at Spurs without making a senior appearance. Quy spent three seasons playing for Hereford United in the fifth tier before injury forced him to end his playing career early.
On his LinkedIn page, he said his duties at Palace will include “leading all goalkeeper coaching sessions for the first team”, “preparing goalkeepers for the demands of the Premier League” and “implementing performance analysis and cutting-edge technology to enhance goalkeeper decision-making and match readiness”.
Quy said the impact of the role “plays a critical part in sustaining Crystal Palace’s competitive edge in the Premier League by ensuring first-team goalkeepers are prepared, resilient and capable of influencing games at the highest level”.
