Director of Football
Premier League winner with Blackburn in 1995 and now forging an impressive career behind the scenes. Joined Southampton at end of 2022/23 season as Director of Football,before moving to United to become Technical Director in April 2024. Went on to replace Dan Ashworth as United’s Director of Football, a role which oversees the whole football operation at the club. Had previously worked for Manchester City Academy’s for more than a decade, latterly as Academy Director.

Director of Football Operations
Appointed in October 2025 and will take up role in 2026. Moving from Brentford, who he joined as Business Operations Director in January 2022 before being promoted to Chief Operating Officer in the summer of 2024. He also spent five years at Arsenal – three as Head of Academy Football Operations and two as Head of First Team Football Operations.

Christopher Vivell
Director of Recruitment
Had a very brief (seven month) spell as Chelsea Technical Director to July 2023 and joined United a year later. Initial contract was for a year. First made his name with the Red Bull Group, as Head of Scouting and Recruitment at RB Salzburg and then RB Leipzig. Has impressed bosses at Old Trafford so far.

Michael Carrick
Interim Head Coach
Appointed to the role in January 2026 until the end of the season. Played 464 games for United, winning five Premier League titles and the Champions League among other honours. On retiring, joined the club’s first-team coaching staff under Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and also had a spell as Caretaker-Manager. Then spent two-and-a-half years in charge of Middlesbrough.

Steve Holland
Assistant Head Coach
Appointed to work with Carrick in January 2026. Assistant to Gareth Southgate with England for eight years, during which time they reached the finals of Euro 2020 and Euro 2024. Worked for Crewe and Stoke before becoming Reserves boss at Chelsea. Promoted into first-team set-up as club won the 2012 Champions League, before becoming Assistant of England U21s and then the seniors. Most recent job was as Manager of Yokohama Marinos in Japan, but was sacked after four months.

Jonathan Woodgate
Assistant Head Coach
Appointed to work with Carrick in January 2026, having also worked with him at Middlesbrough, where he started his own playing career and had two other spells. Also played for Leeds United, Newcastle United, Real Madrid, Tottenham and Stoke, as well as winning eight international caps. Managed Middlesbrough and AFC Bournemouth, before returning to the Riverside to work as First Team Coach under Carrick.

Assistant Head Coach
Appointed in January 2026. Has been at Manchester United since 2019, when he became Head of Player Development for the U14s to U16s. Appointed U18s Head Coach in 2021, winning the FA Youth Cup in 2022, and then U21s boss in July 2023. Before that, was Academy Manager at Sheffield United.

Jonny Evans
Assistant Head Coach
Started and finished his playing career at Manchester United, retiring in summer of 2025. In between his two playing spells at Old Trafford, also played on loan for Royal Antwerp and Sunderland and had permanent spells at West Brom and Leicester. Is Northern Ireland’s fourth most-capped player, having represented his country 107 times. Was Loans Manager at United for four months before stepping down in December 2025.

Craig Mawson
First Team Goalkeeper Coach
Appointed to work alongside Carrick in January 2026, having joined United in December 2019. Was a youth player for Burnley but never featured in the first team for the Clarets. Returned to Turf Moor as U18s coach in 2010 and progressed to Head of Academy Goalkeeping and then the first team.

Head of Performance
Worked for rivals Manchester City for 11 years, first as Head of Sport Science and then as Head of Human Performance, before joining Madison Square Garden Sports Corp in New York as Player Performance and Science Lead in November 2022. Drafted in by United Sporting Director Dan Ashworth in September 2024 and made permanent the following summer.

Officially joined in June 2019 from Melbourne City, where he had been Head of Sports Science since June 2015. Prior to that worked for Tottenham’s Academy for six years. Replaces Robin Thorpe, who left for Altis in April. Promoted from Lead Sports Scientist to current role in March 2023.

Head of Psychology and Performance Lifestyle.
Promoted into this role in July 2025 having joined United in July 2016 as Academy Psychologist. In October 2020, he was promoted to Lead Academy Psychologist – a role he held until this new move Also worked for Sale Sharks rugby union club, Hull City and West Bromwich Albion.

Joined Crystal Palace in 2016 as U21 sports science intern. Promoted to first-team S&C coach in July 2018 following departure of Alessandro Schoenmaker. Took on role of Head of Sport Science in 2021, and joined Manchester United in July 2023.

Head of Nutrition
Arrived in July 2025, having been Lead Performance Nutritionist for the Qatar FA and for the Aspire Academy. Prior to this, was Head of Nutrition at Aston Villa from 2020 to 2022.
Will Carvalho
Performance Chef
Joined in June 2025 from Brighton, where he was Executive Performance Chef for two seasons. Before arriving at the Amex, worked for Brazil’s women’s team for more than 12-and-a-half years, for Gloucester rugby union team and for Scottish Rugby.

Strength & Power Coach
Made 15 starts for the club as a full-back between 1996 and 2002. His father (also called Mike) was power and conditioning coach for United between 2000 and 2011. The former Sunderland S&C coach was appointed by United in July 2019.

Head of Medicine
Appointed to head up medical department in September 2025. Previously Head of Medicine at Crystal Palace and QPR and First Team Doctor at Millwall and Tottenham. Was also on the Medical Panel of the Pakistan Cricket Board for five years, as well as being the current chairman of the FA’s Medical Society.

Joined from Everton in September 2025. Spent three years with the Toffees after seven years as a Doctor and GP in the NHS. Has also been Team Doctor for British Gymnastics and for Wigan Warriors Rugby League.

Joined United in June 2024, having worked for Arsenal for almost 12 years. First joined the Gunners from Crystal Palace as an Academy Physio in December 2012. Was promoted to First Team Physio in June 2018 and then Head Physio in August 2020. His boss throughout that time was O’Driscoll.

Worked for hometown club MK Dons for four years, rising to become Lead Performance Analyst. This is where he first worked with Head Coach Russell Martin, who took him to Swansea City and then Southampton, where his title was First Team Tactics and Insight Analyst. Move to Man Utd reunites him with Director of Football Jason Wilcox, who was also his boss at Southampton.
