Christy Fenwick has left his role as First Team Senior Performance Analyst at Chelsea after almost 19 years with the club.
Fenwick is the latest senior member of staff to leave Stamford Bridge since the BlueCo consortium completed their takeover of the club in May 2022.
Fenwick joined Chelsea in December 2007 and described his job as “supporting management, coaching staff and players with all aspects of analysis and contributing to the success of the club on a domestic and international stage”.
Posting on LinkedIn, he said: “It feels weird that for the first time in approximately 20 years I won’t be going into a training ground in the first week of July.
“I want to look back on my time with pride and gratitude and look forward with confidence and excitement.
“Throughout my time at Chelsea, I’ve had the privilege of seeing up close how some of the best coaches and players in the world operate. Every season has brought different challenges, perspectives and opportunities to learn from these guys and I believe I have learnt so much from all of them.”
Fenwick was previously First Team Match Analyst for Aston Villa and Wolves, spending two years at each club.
Other senior staff to have left Chelsea in the past four years include:
- Marina Granovskaia, Director, who was the most senior football figure at the club when she left in May 2022 after 12 years.
- Petr Cech, Technical and Performance Advisor, had joined the staff after playing in goal for the Blues and left after three years in June 2022.
- Bruce Buck, Chairman, who left in the same month as Cech after serving in the role since 2003.
- Scott McLachlan, Head of International Scouts, who departed after 11 years in September 2022.
- Paco Biosca, Head of Medical, who left in the same month as McLachlan also after 11 years’ service.
- Neil Bath, Director of Football Development and Operations, who departed after more than 30 years’ service in July 2024.
- Ed Brand, Loan Technical Coach, who had been at the club for almost 29 years and was one of three members of the loans department to leave in May 2026.
- Marlon Fahy, Senior Loan Operations and Performance Analyst, who joined the club initially on an internship in July 2012.
- Luis Nedio, Loan and Mentor Technical Coach, who arrived in November 2024.
Recently appointed Xabi Alonso is the sixth Head Coach in this time, with now England Head Coach Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter, Mauricio Pochettino, Enzo Maresca and Liam Rosenior all leaving since the start of the 2022/23 season.
Chelsea finished 10th in the Premier League last season and start the new campaign away to Fulham next month.
