Brighton appoint Yeung as First Team Training Analyst
Nicolaus Yeung has been appointed as First Team Training Analyst at Brighton.
Yeung joins the Seagulls after almost seven years at Cardiff – his first professional club.
He joined the Bluebirds in October 2019 and worked as a Performance Analyst in their Academy and for their Under-18 and Under-21 teams before being promoted to Assistant First Team Analyst in August 2023. He was promoted again last September to First Team Analyst.
Yeung will “lead the detailed analysis of all team and individual sessions, providing feedback to coaching staff with the aim of helping to improve individuals and win games”, according to the job description when the role was advertised in the summer.
Training Analyst is one of the newer roles in the game, although Brighton are not the first club to have one.
Tottenham appointed Matteo Astori to the role last October, while Brentford named Benjamin Chevreau as theirs in January, while Sheffield United are in the process of appointing one.
