NEWCASTLE UNITED’S Under-21s Lead Player Development Coach Elliott Dickman has left the club after 14 months.

Dickman joined from nearby Sunderland, where he was U23s Lead, in October 2021 after 26 years with the Black Cats.

Neil Winskill, Newcastle’s Head of Academy Coach Development, will oversee U21s training until a permanent successor to Dickman is appointed. U21s assistant Kevin Richardson also left the club in October.

In a statement, Newcastle said: “The club thanks Elliott for his hard work and professionalism during his 14 months at the Academy and wishes him well for the future.”

A number of changes have been made across the Professional Development Phase in recent months. Graeme Carrick was appointed U18s coach in August, with Chris Moore joining as his assistant.

Peter Ramage moved from U18s Lead to support Shola Ameobi as Loan Player Co-ordinator. Meanwhile, former U18s assistant Ian Bogie returned to his role as U15s/16s Lead.

Newcastle's Academy Manager is former keeper Steve Harper, who succeeded Joe Joyce in July 2021.
