Tickets now on sale for Cohesive Coaching!
Written by Simon Austin — April 13, 2018
TICKETS are now on sale for Cohesive Coaching - an intimate half-day event in Manchester exploring how the different elements of a modern management team can work together as one.
Football staffs have expanded exponentially in recent years, but all too often the different disciplines (coaching, fitness, analytics, psychology) work independently of one another. Cohesive Coaching will look into how they can work together holistically within a single session.
This will be of interest to you if you're working professionally within a club, if you're an amateur coach - or if you just want to listen to (and speak to) four top-class practitioners covering each of the 'four corners':
- Tactical: Brian Ashton (last coach to lead England to a Rugby World Cup final)
- Technical: Dan Micciche (manager of MK Dons and former England U16s coach)
- Physical: Tony Strudwick (Head of Performance for Wales who spent 11 years at Man Utd)
- Psychological: Martin Fairn (CEO of Gazing, whose clients include the NZ All Blacks)
Cohesive Coaching is from 2pm to 6pm on Wednesday June 20th at This is The Space in Spinningfields, Manchester. At the end of the discussion, you'll be able to put your questions to our experts and speak to them over a drink and some food. You can buy your tickets HERE.
We are only releasing 50 tickets for the event and they'll be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Cohesive Coaching is in association with Vald Performance, who bring laboratory-grade performance to the field; STATSports, the world-leading provider of GPS player tracking and analysis equipment; and WAKTU, who help players and teams unlock performance levels.
Brian Ashton MBE
Brian is the last man to lead England to the final of the Rugby World Cup, in 2007. The achievement saw the Lancastrian awarded the MBE a year later. Ashton was the mastermind behind two of the great rugby attacks of all time - the Bath side of the 1990s and England from 2000 to 2002. His services are still highly in demand, with clients including Manchester United, the Premier League and the International Rugby Academy of New Zealand.
Dan is regarded as one of the most innovative young coaches in England. He was assistant Academy manager of the club from October 2007 to August 2013, playing a key role in the development of players including Dele Alli. Micciche went on to become England Under-16 coach, working with the likes of Jadon Sancho, Ryan Sessegnon and Angel Gomes. He was appointed MK Dons manager in January.
Tony has been a practitioner for more than 20 years and is highly respected within the game. He was Head of Performance for Manchester United for 11 years and former first-team coach Rene Meulensteen described him as having been "instrumental" to the success achieved under Sir Alex Ferguson during that period. In March, Tony was appointed Head of Performance for Wales - a role which will see him reunited with United legend Ryan Giggs, who is now manager of the Principality.
Martin is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Gazing Performance - a company that equips elite athletes and teams to perform under pressure. Gazing's stellar list of clients include the New Zealand All Blacks. Before starting Gazing two decades ago, Martin was General Manager of printing giant Xerox and also played rugby for Coventry and England Students.
Vald Performance was founded by the Queensland University of Technology in 2014 and brings laboratory-grade technology to the field. The company’s NordBord Hamstring Testing System, GroinBar Hip Strength Testing System and HumanTrak Movement Analysis System are used by elite sports teams around the world.
WAKTU help professional sports teams and players to discover and unlock unknown performance levels. They create competitive, hostile, adaptable & dynamic environments through a range on outdoor challenges in the Lake District.
