Tony Roberts: Worked with Norwich Sporting Director Ben Knapper at Arsenal

Tony Roberts has returned to the UK after a year with AC Milan to become Head of Goalkeeping at Norwich City.

The Welshman is hugely experienced, having coached at QPR, Arsenal, Swansea City, Hebei China Fortune, Birmingham City and Wolves.

He had worked with AC Milan since August 2023 and for the Wales national team for the last eight years. Roberts knows Norwich Sporting Director Ben Knapper well from their time together at Arsenal, where Knapper worked for 13 years and became Loans and Pathways Manager.

At Norwich City, Roberts replaces Paul Clements, who left earlier this month to join Narcis Pelach, the former Canaries First Team Coach, at Stoke City. Roberts’ replacement as Goalkeeper Coach with the Wales national team is Martyn Margetson, who had previously worked with England for eight years.
