CLAIRE-MARIE ROBERTS has been appointed to the new position of Performance Director by Coventry City.

Roberts arrives at the club from the Premier League, where she was Head of Elite Development and had worked for almost nine years.

Coventry said that her new role would be to “ensure the highest standards in all aspects of performance and preparation for elite football are delivered sustainably across the whole club.”

Roberts is a former international swimmer who moved into football in the early 2000s, playing for Swindon Town Ladies and Aston Villa Ladies. She is also a Chartered Psychologist and Accredited Sport & Exercise Scientist.

Prior to joining the Premier League, Roberts worked for the British Olympic Association across three Olympic and Paralympic cycles, held roles in a number of men’s and women’s football clubs and academic positions at several Universities.

Coventry said Roberts would "work in unison with the senior football management team and report to the Executive Chairman" and begin her new job early in 2024.
